A brand for sustainability, efficiency, and innovation.
In early 2020, Verrall Design was asked to provide graphic design and branding support for Ergo Eco’s Oil-Ternative™ line of eco products. We produced the product’s first label concept and developed a light, early-stage brand identity to support the label’s design work.
Working with Ergo Eco to transition Oil-Ternative™ from an idea to prototypes for consumer and B2B markets was an exciting opportunity. Ergo’s product is a truly innovative offering, having the potential to disrupt and reshape the whole construction sector. Oil-Ternative™ will allow for projects to be carried out from start to finish in a truly sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
We chose to build Oil-Ternative™’s visual identity around this spirit of excitement and innovation, choosing a bold shade of green and a modern style typeface for the product’s wordmark. The end result is an eye-catching brand that quickly conveys the product’s environmental credentials and premium-tier offering.
Additionally, this was Verrall Design’s first professional foray into technical, compliance-focused label design. VDC was responsible for ensuring Oil-Ternative™’s product labels adhered to all relevant regulations around matters such as mandatory copy sizing and formal warning disclosure.
